About

History

Ebert Construction Co Inc was established in 1958 by Jim Ebert who saw little opportunity for the future on his family’s farm after graduating from high school. Jim’s brother Pat joined the Company shortly thereafter. Early operations included excavation of farm ponds and terraces; and clearing trees. The first shop and office were constructed in 1965. During the 1970’s and 80’s, the company grew by purchasing more equipment and adding watershed projects to its workload.

In the 90’s Jim’s son-in-law, Dirk Riniker became part of management and the Company diversified into other areas of construction including highway construction and concrete structures. Also joining the Company in the 90’s were Jim’s son and daughter, Jim Ebert II and Lisa Diederich.

The Company has successfully completed projects of all sizes for State Departments of Transportation, US Army Corps of Engineers, Natural Resources Conservation Service, watershed districts, local counties and municipalities, and private owners. See our “Roads and Highways” and “Bridges and Box Culverts” pages for information on some of our projects.

Current Operations

The company continues to be family-owned and operated by Dirk Riniker (President/CEO), Jim Ebert II (COO), Lisa Diederich (CFO), and many loyal and long-time employees. Our experienced team of supervisors and leadmen range in age from 28 to 63 and have years of service with the Company ranging from 2 years to 40 years. At any given time, the company employs 50 to 75 people.
